Background & Education
Dr. Ryan Carrera, DMD, is a board-eligible pediatric dentist. He grew up in Maryland and then moved to Ithaca, New York to attend Cornell University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences. Next, he attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, earning a Doctorate of Dental Medicine and a Certificate in Social Determinants of Health and Disparities. Following dental school, Dr. Carrera received specialized training in pediatric dentistry at the NYU Langone Pediatric Dentistry Residency in Tucson, Arizona, where he treated children in hospital and health center settings.
After completing his training, Dr. Carrera returned to his home state of Maryland. Dr. Carrera speaks Spanish. He works at our Smile Castle clinic in California, Maryland.

Outside the Practice
Dr. Carrera enjoys providing quality dental care to children and helping them overcome the fear of the dentist. In his spare time, Dr. Carrera enjoys staying active, learning new things, and spending time with friends and family.
